This Privacy Policy applies to the Auto Clipper mobile application and its related processing services, including backend systems used to analyze, transcribe, render, store, and deliver video clips.
1. Information We Collect
The type of data we process depends on the features you use.
1.1 Account and Profile Data
We may collect and store:
- Firebase User ID
- Email address and display name (when signing in with Google)
- Sign-in status (e.g., anonymous or linked account)
- Subscription tier and expiration metadata
- API key status for Pro web panel access
1.2 Subscription and Purchase Verification Data
If you subscribe through Google Play, we may process:
- Subscription product ID
- Purchase or order identifier
- Google Play purchase token (for server-side verification)
- Subscription status, acknowledgement state, and expiration time
We do not receive your full payment card or banking information. All payments are handled by Google Play and its payment processors.
1.3 Media and Content You Provide
Depending on your usage, we may process:
- Video files imported from your device
- Subtitle files, clip selections, titles, captions, and related metadata
- URLs you provide for content processing
- Generated outputs such as transcripts, timestamps, clip suggestions, thumbnails, and rendered videos
1.4 Device, Notification, and Operational Data
We may process:
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token
- Notification preferences
- Server request data, timestamps, job IDs, queue status, and error logs
1.5 Advertising Data
The app uses Google AdMob on supported features. Google and its partners may collect device, network, and interaction data according to their own privacy policies when ads are displayed.
2. How We Use Information
We use collected data to:
- Create and manage user accounts
- Authenticate users and secure access
- Verify subscriptions and manage Pro features
- Process media (upload, fetch, transcribe, clip, render, and store results)
- Provide gallery history and downloads
- Send notifications and service updates
- Support free-tier features (including ads and usage limits)
- Monitor performance, prevent abuse, and improve reliability
3. When Media Leaves Your Device
Some features are processed locally. However, certain features require server-side processing.
If you use features such as clipping, transcription, rendering, gallery storage, niche research, or URL import, your selected or fetched media will be uploaded to our backend.
Generated outputs (such as clips, transcripts, thumbnails, and subtitles) may also be stored on our servers to support history, status tracking, and downloads.
4. Sharing and Service Providers
We may share data with trusted service providers that help operate the app, including:
- Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Firebase Cloud Messaging
- Google Play Billing (subscription management and verification)
- Google AdMob (advertising)
- Backend hosting and infrastructure providers
- AI processing providers (e.g., Google Gemini, OpenAI, Zhipu), when enabled
We do not sell your personal data.
We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect users, the service, or the public.
5. Data Retention
We retain data based on its purpose:
- Account and subscription data: retained while your account is active and as needed for legal, billing, and security purposes
- Media and generated content: retained while jobs are active and available in your gallery/history, subject to cleanup policies
- Logs and system data: retained for troubleshooting, abuse prevention, and system integrity
6. Your Choices
You can:
- Sign in with Google or use anonymous mode (where available)
- Manage permissions (storage, notifications) via device settings
- Cancel subscriptions through Google Play
- Delete local media from your device
- Contact us regarding your account-related data
7. Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect your data, including authenticated access controls and encrypted data transmission where applicable.
However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children’s Privacy
This service is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required by local law).
If you believe a child has provided personal data without proper consent, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
